How We Celebrate The Holidays and Our Favorite Traditions

As the holidays approach we all have different traditions, favorite memories, and things we look forward to. We thought we would share our holiday plans with you guys…here’s what we’re most excited about this year.

Celebrate The Holidays

For me, the holiday season begins on Thanksgiving. My boyfriends Birthday is November 24th and then I begin to get ready to head to the East Coast for my Birthday, Christmas, and the New Year. In between all of this I’m holiday shopping, packing, blogging, and planning my trip to New York City. December is a hectic month for me, but it’s also my favorite time of the year.

1. New York City.

2. Visiting friends and family I don’t get to see often.

3. Spending time in my childhood home—I look forward to how my mom decorates for the holidays.

4. Opening presents.

5. SNOW! (Well hopefully.) I grew up in Massachusetts so seeing snow is something I look forward to each year.

My favorite holiday food:

I’m hoping to get truffle mac and cheese from The Federal to eat on Christmas day. I no longer eat meat so tasty sides filled with carbs are my go-to dishes.

My annual holiday tradition:

Vacationing on the East Coast. Billy and I will be leaving Los Angeles soon and heading to my home state of Massachusetts. We’ll also be taking our third Christmas trip to NYC (check out my fun time from last year), where we celebrate my Birthday (December 23rd), and Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve my parents will drive into the city and then we will meet up with my sister and her boyfriend who live in Brooklyn. We will have dinner and later that night we’ll head back to Massachusetts so we can be home on Christmas morning to open our presents. Billy and I will stay on the East Coast until a few days after the New Year so we can spend time with my family.

The present I hope to receive this year:

There are three; star-print leather boxing gloves, an Opening Ceremony hoodie, and a Jeff Koons inspired balloon dog.

My go-to Christmas day outfit:

To be honest my Christmas Day outfit is pretty laid back. I dress up for Christmas Eve dinner (usually a dress, with black tights, and booties). On Christmas day we stay home, eat tons of food, and watch movies all day.

How I avoid stress during the holidays:

I make to-do lists and check off each task once I complete it—that helps a lot. I also try to get everything done ASAP so I’m not rushing at the last minute.

Favorite Christmas movies:

The Night Before, Elf, Eloise at Christmastime, The Family Stone, and Nothing Like the Holidays.

What I’m most looking forward to in 2019:

I’m hoping to get a puppy! I’m also looking forward to expanding A Girl in LA, and going on a vacation with my family.

One of my favorite parts of going to New York City is admiring all the amazing Christmas trees; this one was in Bryant Park

I can’t believe the year is ending in a couple of weeks. As we breeze through December, I am becoming more excited to fly home for the holidays so I can see my family. This will be the first time since last Christmas that I will see them. Holidays at my home are spent cooking, watching movies, and catching up on life. I’m excited to head back to the suburbs and not have to worry about work and any responsibilities.

1. Flying home to see my family on December 21st.

2. Upcoming Secret Santa gift exchanges with friends.

3. My company holiday party.

4. I can’t wait to bond with my siblings and watch our favorite Christmas movies.

5. I look forward to not having to set my alarm clock.

My favorite holiday food:

Mom’s Sweet Potato Casserole

My annual holiday tradition:

My family Christmas tradition starts on Christmas Eve and we stay up until midnight to ring in Christmas.

The present I hope to receive this year:

This year all I want are the Christian Louboutin Moulamax Fur Red Sole Booties.

My go-to Christmas day outfit:

My mom expects us to look nice on Christmas so my go to outfit is some sort of chic, red dress.

How I avoid stress during the holidays:

I don’t stress during the holidays because I am away from work and my hectic Los Angeles lifestyle.

Favorite Christmas movies:

How The Grinch Stole Christmas and The Polar Express.

What I’m most looking forward to in 2019:

To grow creativity and meet inspiring people who motivate and inspire me.

Celebrate The Holidays

My mom always says I’m the real gift every Christmas because it is the only time I come home.

My dad still makes me help him chop wood for the fireplace.

I think the most important thing about the holidays is spending it with people you love like this amazing group of friends!
