My Simple Approach to Creating an Impressive Jewelry Display

When it comes to displaying my jewelry, I love having everything out in the open. This makes choosing what to accessorize with easier and it helps me to appreciate more of what I have. This past weekend I did a quick inventory of my necklaces, bracelets, and rings. I separated them into three categories: things I wear regularly, items I rarely wear, and tarnished or broken pieces. For the weathered items, I invested time in trying to clean or fix them and if it didn’t work I ended up taking the jewelry apart and saving the charms, or tossing the pieces all together. things to do on a rainy day

When rain hits Los Angeles everything comes to a halt. Luckily this isn’t something we have to deal with very often, so when we get a rainstorm I look forward to the change. Since our most recent one lasted a few days I had no choice but to venture out of my apartment. While outside, I paused to admire how beautiful (and clean) the city looked; how the skyscrapers sparkled and glistened. During these four gloomy days, I listened to my rainy day playlist, did an at home facial, created recipes from new cookbook, watched a movie, caught up on my TV shows, and generallyRead More →

pumpkin spice

Autumn is my favorite season and to celebrate I indulge in everything pumpkin spice. l buy the seasonal fall products I’ve come to love, while trying out some new just released ones. Here are my picks (new and old), varying from food to beauty. Pumpkin Spice Everything! 1. Pumpkin Spice Ground Coffee | Starbucks: Once October rolls around, I refuse to drink coffee that isn’t pumpkin spice. I always brew my own at home with this Starbucks blend. Favorite TV Shows of All-Time

Even though we live in Los Angeles where the weather is nice most of the year, during the fall we sometimes just want to stay in, prepare a cup of hot cocoa and do some binge watching. We each chose our five favorite TV shows of all-time and weirdly enough, none of us picked the same one. So when you’re searching for something to watch this season, you have 15 options to choose from! I didn’t watch Oz while it was on TV; years later I caught up with it on HBO GO. I’m a huge fan of The Wire, so when I found outRead More →

Star Map

When my boyfriend and I moved into our new apartment we had a lot of white empty walls that we were looking to fill with unique artwork. We outgrew a lot of the previous pieces that were hanging up in our old apartment, or they no longer fit with the decor in our new place. We both have totally different styles; he’s into surrealism and I’m into trendy, street art, and pop art. However, there is once piece that we both equally agree on and thoroughly love which is our Star Map print by Modern Map Art. We collaborated with this digital design company thatRead More →

picnic on the beach

I’ve always wanted to have a picnic on the beach but it seemed like a lot of work. When I think of a picnic I think of homemade muffins, a variety of sandwiches and pasta dishes, and all of the prepping that goes into it. The other day my friend Kim contacted me and asked me what I was doing that day. Neither of us had anything planned so we decided to enjoy the beautiful Los Angeles weather and head to Venice Beach. We through together a picnic with an assortment of store-bought food and drinks. Before I left my apartment I thought about whatRead More →

summer beach essentials

Whether I’m headed to a local beach here in Los Angeles County, or preparing for an exotic vacation somewhere far away, my summer beach essentials help me to have the perfect day. I recently vacationed in Puerto Vallarta, and before I left I started to think about what I would need. Being a lover of street style, this cover up was the first item on my list. The mesh material helped to keep me cool in the hot and humid 90+ degree days. I love wearing white in the summer as it shows off my tan. I then worked the rest of my outfit aroundRead More →
