One Year Blogging Anniversary

I always considered myself an influencer in regards to discovering new clothing labels and trends, or choosing great beauty products to tell my friends about. They would come to me for advice and I’d give them my honest opinion. I decided that I could share my views with readers of A Girl in LA, and hopefully introduce them to something new and undiscovered. Coming up on the one year blogging anniversary, I thought I’d reflect on how the blog came to be what it is today. When I created A Girl in LA, I was working in a fashion PR showroom and I wanted toRead More →

The Deuce

I had been waiting for The Deuce to premiere for what seemed like eternity. Having a love for New York City and being obsessed with the 1970s, as soon as I saw the trailer this past winter, I couldn’t wait. But first, let’s take a look at how New York City looked back then… Times Square in The 1970’s Image via Image via Recreating The Disco Era The Deuce is written by David Simon (The Wire, The Corner), so you know it’s going to be gritty and intense. s'mores

In honor of National Ice Cream Day I thought I’d put a twist on the basic s’mores we all enjoyed as children. The other day when I came across SmashMellow’s Cinnamon Churro Marshmallows, I knew I had to replace the traditional marshmallows that I had been using. I must say that the finished product was not only delicious but it was also a more fancy approach to your basic s’mores. Instead of just sandwiching them between two graham crackers, I also decided to use some of my favorite Gelato to create a frozen treat. These s’mores are the perfect combo of chocolate, sugary toasted cinnamonRead More →
