Gina's Year in Review: Favorite Moments, Places, and Memories of 2020

This year has been collectively known as one of the worst years in U.S. history, thanks to COVID-19. I tried to make the most of it by continuing to evolve, learn, and be my best self. I graduated from college and got my Bachelor’s degree in May, which was the highlight of my year. As far as creating new memories, I didn’t have the opportunity to make as many as I would have liked to due to the related isolation. For me, this year was a time for personal growth and self-care. I ate healthier, did yoga daily, and adopted a more positive mindset. BeforeRead More →

Quarantine has been the “new normal” for the past two months, and now Los Angeles County has approved stay-at-home orders for at least another three. Being at home and in isolation can make you a little stir-crazy. There are some days where it’s hard to find the motivation to get out of bed. Being out of work and unable to do most activities that were usually part of my daily routine has been difficult. However, I’ve come up with a manageable day-to-day regimen for myself while in lockdown. Giving yourself a routine during quarantine can lift your spirits, increase motivation, and be a perfect timeRead More →

Memories of 2019, family photo on the beach

As I sit here on my flight to the East Coast, where I’ll be spending the rest of 2019 and ringing in the New Year, I’m reminiscing on the incredible year I’ve had. At the end of 2018, Nara and I did a “year in review” where we highlighted our favorite moments, trends, and what we wanted to remember. I started this tradition a few years ago and kept my thoughts in a journal, but last December I published them for the first time. A couple of days ago I revisited the questionnaire by filling out the same series of questions that pertain to fashion,Read More →

Summer Nights in Los Angeles

On a typical summer night with my hectic schedule, I’m usually writing, editing or responding to my overflowing inbox. When I’m not doing that, I’m squeezing in time at the gym (usually later in the evening), or if I have the time catching up on my favorite TV shows. I find it important to go off track every once in a while and switch it up a bit. My boyfriend and I try to, at least once a week have one of those amazing LA summer nights. It doesn’t have to be much, or cost a lot of money, in fact some of my favoritesRead More →

Pool Proof Makeup Products

During the hot months I like to keep my makeup routine as simple as possible. There’s nothing worse than walking around or laying out in the extreme heat to feel that my skin can’t breath or to look in the mirror and see that my makeup is smudged and that it no longer looks like how it did when I left my apartment 20 minutes ago. The key in solving this common issue was adopting two makeup routines. One for the everyday summer months and one for when I’m going to be spending the day at the pool or at the beach. The difference betweenRead More →

Beauty Blunders - Skin

When I started writing this article I intended on writing about a few common beauty blunders that myself or my friends had made in the past and what we did to fix them. As I kept writing more and more problems started popping into my head, so not to bombard you, this is going to be a series on how to fix those common issues that we’re all guilty of making, or probably will make at some point. Let’s start first with skin related issues. Faux Tan Everyone enjoys a radiant “I just got back from a tropical vacation” glow but now that we’re becoming moreRead More →
