Vacation at the Connecticut shoreline

I couldn’t have asked for a better end to the summer. Billy and I took our much anticipated trip to the East Coast. We spent a week and a half in Massachusetts prior to our 10 day vacation in Westbrook, Connecticut (the same seaside town I grew up going to every year). While we were in CT, my parents and I took a day trip to Block Island and explored the picturesque seaside town. This past week, I’ve been looking at my photos and reliving the memories of this amazing vacation that I documented on my InstaStories. From the moment I left this quaint beachRead More →

christmas in nyc

This past December it was my third time spending the days leading up to Christmas in NYC. On December 18th Billy and I flew from Los Angeles to Windsor Locks, CT (about 15 minutes from my childhood home in Massachusetts) and then on to my parents house. All of my Christmas gifts were shipped there, so I devoted the next day wrapping and packing for New York. The following evening my dad drove us to Union Station in New Haven, CT where we hopped on a 2 hour train ride to Grand Central Terminal. We spent 5 unforgettable days and 4 nights in the cityRead More →

Star Map

When my boyfriend and I moved into our new apartment we had a lot of white empty walls that we were looking to fill with unique artwork. We outgrew a lot of the previous pieces that were hanging up in our old apartment, or they no longer fit with the decor in our new place. We both have totally different styles; he’s into surrealism and I’m into trendy, street art, and pop art. However, there is once piece that we both equally agree on and thoroughly love which is our Star Map print by Modern Map Art. We collaborated with this digital design company thatRead More →

The other day I was walking aimlessly around Downtown Los Angeles and I saw a colorful portrait of Andy Warhol in a window and I could hear him say to me, “Come inside.”  Being a huge fan of The Factory and Warhol’s work I had to check it out. I walked into the pop-up gallery “Kings & Queens” to stare in amazement at the mixed media artwork that stood before my eyes. Inside were photographs of Warhol taken by Karen Bystedt in 1982, combined with photographs of Jean-Michel Basquiat taken by Brad Benson in 1984. Bystedt then combined mixed media art to create some amazing pieces. The pop-up gallery is open until April 31st, and if you’re a fan ofRead More →

Hello February

February, the shortest month can easily feel like the longest. That time of the year when we long for summer and 80 degree temps and pray the rain would dissipate. Having a schedule of fun events, movies, and things to do will make the month breeze by, and before you know it you’ll be sitting poolside, sipping mimosas. BUY: Cooper Design Space, Last Friday’s Sample Sale, 860 S. A little while ago my friends and I reserved tickets to The Broad museum in DTLA. Artists featured there include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, Kara Walker, Christopher Wool, Jeff Koons, Cy Twombly, Joseph Beuys, Barbara Kruger,  Cindy Sherman, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, plus many more. We weren’t able to get into the infinity mirrored room. Hopefully next time. Here are some of my favorites… On the second floor they have a gift shop that sells coffee table books, games, ornaments, jewelry, tea cups, pictures, and other cool things. We then walked across the street to the Moca museum and had lunch at Lemonade. The have THE BEST truffle mac & cheese! Xx.KristieRead More →
