Long gone are the days of the traditional red and green Christmas; they’ve been replaced with tons of pink and bright bold colors. When I’m searching for decorating ideas, Eloise and Barbie are some of my biggest influences. I also look for projects that won’t take a ton of time to create since December is such a chaotic month. There’s holiday shopping, packing and planning my annual trip to NYC and Massachusetts, and trying to get all this done before I leave. This means I don’t have a lot of time to decorate my apartment but I still want it to look trendy and festive.

My Thanksgiving usually consists of my boyfriend and I going out to dinner or ordering a ton of takeout and binge-watching Holiday movies. Usually when we go out on a Friday night, we meet up with friends for drinks, or we’ll head to a trendy eatery. Being so close to Halloween, I wanted to do something festive but also avoid the typical tourist attractions. We’ve been binge-watching The Haunting of Hill House (a must see), and that definitely inspired my idea. We also stopped by my favorite bookstore located inside an old bank vault. I’m not sure how I feel about “ghosts,” and
