What I Loved in July 2020

A collection of things I loved in July, from beauty products and fashion to entertainment and everything in between. A couple of months ago I tried these plant-based Dream Pops and instantly became hooked. They come in flavors like vanilla matcha (my favorite), chocolate, berry, coconut latte, and mango rosemary. Not only are they refreshing on a scorching summer day, but each pop is only 100 calories and they’re vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free. Last summer I fell in love with Eyeko Beach vegan waterproof mascara for a few reasons. First, it keeps my lashes curled. Second, it doesn’t weigh them down and third, it doesn’tRead More →

What I Loved in June 2020

A collection of things I loved in June, from beauty products and fashion to entertainment and everything in between. Last year I went back to the town that I grew up going to every summer, and it was as if my family and I never left. Our beach vacation to the Connecticut shore was nothing short of incredible and I loved being able to share this unique place with Billy. A couple of weeks ago I started planning this year’s trip. After being locked indoors for what seems like forever, I can’t wait to get away. This year will be different though. My family justRead More →

My Favorite Yoga Videos on YouTube

Working out has become a daily goal of mine. It helps lift my mood while keeping my mind, body, and soul healthy. To fight viruses like Covid-19, staying active can aid our immune systems, and while all gyms and studios are still closed, there are various ways we can still workout. Lifting weights, cardio, HIIT, and going for walks are a great way to clear your head and re-energize from being stuck inside. However, my favorite is yoga, especially because I can do it at home and it requires little equipment. Focusing on breathing, strength, and balance turns a day full of anxiety into aRead More →

We as a country cannot tolerate this systemic oppression any longer, and we at A Girl in LA stand as allies and in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

In light of recent events, the question on most people’s minds is, what could I do as an individual to further the cause of equal rights for black and brown citizens of the United States? We witnessed the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police this past week and it sparked worldwide outrage. It was the ultimate breaking point. Enough is enough. There are many more victims’ names to add to the list and justice must be served, especially when it comes to police brutality and systematic racism in the United States and far beyond. As recently as March, police served a searchRead More →

What I Loved in May 2020

A collection of things I loved in May, from beauty products and fashion to entertainment and everything in between. I have an enormous sweet tooth so I decided to satisfy it by trying Japanese “Dagashi” candy. I ordered a box that came with around 30 pieces from a company called Tonosama. I knew ahead of time that the ingredients would be listed in Japanese so in order to figure out what I would be eating I used the Google translate app on my iPhone. Most of the candy and snacks were tasty but I did end up giving some of the more “exotic” ones away.Read More →

4 Workout Outfits That Will Motivate You!

One thing that has made this stay at home order bearable is continuing my workout regimen. Although switching from the gym to working out inside my apartment (here’s the equipment I purchased back in March), has taken some getting used to, it has become something that I look forward to doing. I’ve also noticed a shift in my summer shopping habits. Usually, I’d be browsing for sundresses and sandals, but my attention has been focused more on athleisure and lounge attire.
