Sugarfina Valentine's Day Charcuterie Board

I have an enormous sweet tooth so I look for any excuse to indulge in sugar. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I thought about various ways to celebrate, other than the typical cookies and cupcakes. Also, February 14th my boyfriend Billy and I will be celebrating our 3 year anniversary so we’ll combine the two for a day of sweet treats. This year I chose to create a candy charcuterie board complete with our favorite candy from Sugarfina, and our favorite French imported chocolates from Le chocolat des Francais. I love this colorful concept since it’s so simple to make and it canRead More →

Statement leather jacket

I purchased this corduroy Opening Ceremony Varsity Jacket last year and it sat in my closet because, one it was too warm to wear in L.A., and two I was waiting to plan the perfect outfit. Yes, it was a bit pricey and I rarely splurge on “trends”; usually when I indulge it’s on things I’ll be able to wear for seasons to come. But this navy bomber jacket stood out, and I had to have it. The sleeves are made of leather, and the shell is a soft corduroy—which takes me back to Friday night football games. I love the vintage-inspired strategically placed patchesRead More →

things to do on a rainy day

When rain hits Los Angeles everything comes to a halt. Luckily this isn’t something we have to deal with very often, so when we get a rainstorm I look forward to the change. Since our most recent one lasted a few days I had no choice but to venture out of my apartment. While outside, I paused to admire how beautiful (and clean) the city looked; how the skyscrapers sparkled and glistened. During these four gloomy days, I listened to my rainy day playlist, did an at home facial, created recipes from new cookbook, watched a movie, caught up on my TV shows, and generallyRead More →

New York style winter coat

One of the things I love about New York in the winter time is the chance to wear (and purchase) warmer clothing. I look forward to a break from the typical warm L.A. weather and an opportunity to switch up my style. Before I took off for the East Coast, I was searching for the quintessential winter coat. I went to several stores and placed multiple online orders in a variety of styles and ended up returning them all. On the day before I left, my last hope arrived—an oversized plaid double breasted wool coat from Tommy Hilfiger. I paused in front of my mirrorRead More →

Hotel birthday party

A few years ago Billy and I started a tradition of spending the days leading up to Christmas Eve in New York City. My Birthday happens to fall when we are there so I’ve been unable to celebrate with my family. This time they joined us and we had a little get-together. Rather than doing the typical dinner, followed by cake and presents at a restaurant—I choose to have the party in our hotel suite. Since I was busy packing for my trip and holiday shopping, there wasn’t a ton of time to devote to planning it. I jotted down a few notes and followedRead More →

christmas in nyc

This past December it was my third time spending the days leading up to Christmas in NYC. On December 18th Billy and I flew from Los Angeles to Windsor Locks, CT (about 15 minutes from my childhood home in Massachusetts) and then on to my parents house. All of my Christmas gifts were shipped there, so I devoted the next day wrapping and packing for New York. The following evening my dad drove us to Union Station in New Haven, CT where we hopped on a 2 hour train ride to Grand Central Terminal. We spent 5 unforgettable days and 4 nights in the cityRead More →

NYC Street Style

When I was packing for my trip to New York City I planned out all of my outfits ahead of time rather than just throwing pieces into my suitcase. Since there would be a lot of walking involved I needed something comfortable to explore the city in. I purchased these studded Ash biker boots back in 2011 and they were my go-to shoe during the winter. It had been a couple years since I last wore them so I was excited to put them on again. Going for an edgy NYC street style look I paired them with faux leather leggings, a deconstructed denim jacketRead More →

New Year's Goals

Back in November I thought about what I wanted to achieve for 2019. While 2018 was an amazing year both personal and career-wise, I wanted to plan out the upcoming year ahead of time. Instead of making a list of New Year’s resolutions, I created a list of New Year’s goals. The difference being that resolutions tend to be black or white, while goals can be steps that you can take to achieve your main objective. I thought long and hard and visualized what I wanted to change in my career, personal life, and in my relationships. Here’s what I came up with. Set asideRead More →

year in review

At the end of each year I like to look back and reflect on all the memories that made it special. With mostly ups (and a few downs), I can say 2018 was a remarkable year. Here is my year in review with my favorite moments. From pop-culture, to fashion trends, to life lessons, and the places I visited. Here are the little things that stood out in 2018. Fashion Trend of 2018: White boots, feminist-inspired clothing, and track pants. Worst trend of 2018: Onesie bodysuits, bicycle shorts and high heels, velour tracksuits, and dad sneakers. Trend revamped: Fanny pack—if done right. The item inRead More →

DIY Christmas Gifts

Sometimes when we’re searching for the ultimate gift, we often overlook the idea of creating it ourselves. Every year I say that I will make a handmade gift but I end up doing my shopping online because of my hectic schedule. This year however, I planned ahead and got my Christmas shopping done early, so now I have some free time to create a few special presents before I head to Massachusetts and New York City. I searched Pinterest for projects that would be eye-catching, simple to make, and wouldn’t take a lot of time. Here’s my list of 25 easy DIY Christmas gifts thatRead More →
