How I Plan a Night Out in Los Angeles

Night Out In Los Angeles

How I Plan a Night Out in Los Angeles

My favorite part of a night out in Los Angeles is all the endless possibilities that this city has to offer. I enjoy date nights more than anything because during the week I’m so busy. Date nights give me a chance to spend time with my boyfriend, while getting extra dolled up, and it gives us a chance to try something new. The night for me begins when I put on a good playlist and start getting ready. What’s the ideal low-key night out in Los Angeles for me look like? Read ahead!

Music

I find music helps amp me up for the evening and gives me a huge surge of confidence. Spotify is my go-to streaming app because I like the freedom of being able to create my own playlists. When it comes to choosing songs, I pick upbeat and energetic music by artists like Charli XCX, G-Eazy, SZA, and blackbear.

Glam Time

I enjoy getting ready because I get to do it from this cute vanity and I get to put all my expensive makeup to use. On the top of my vanity I like to showcase my perfumes, face creams, lipsticks, and makeup brushes. The rest of my makeup is stored away neatly in compartments.

  • Mario Badescu– Facial Spray, $7

The Outfit

Night Out In Los Angeles

My boyfriend and I made plans to go out to dinner so I choose to wear this black lace maxi romper. I paired it with Steve Madden strappy heels (here’s a similar pair). Since it has neck strapping I decided to keep the jewelry minimal and wore a dainty silver infinity necklace and my Tiffany & Co. pearl stud earrings. On my right hand I wore two silver bangles. I love the versatility of this romper, and love the attachment of the skirt. I feel that my legs are my best feature so I appreciate how this helps accentuate them. This was a foolproof date outfit because it was comfortable, yet sexy without trying too hard.

I’m wearing the Whitney romper, which retails for $47. It was gifted to me by a friend from FIDM that launched her own clothing site; Trendy RompersIt aspires to create a personal shopping experience by selectively offering rompers that cater to every woman’s lifestyle. Everything on her site is offered at an affordable price. Enter promo code: AGIRLINLA for 20% off your first order! Dinner at Cecconi’s

Night Out In Los Angeles

If there is one thing my boyfriend and I both agree on…it’s Italian food! We decided to try Cecconi’s in West Hollywood. It is dimly lit with classic table decor and chandeliers. The vibe is elegant, chic, and trendy. Cecconi’s offers handmade pasta dishes and seafood using the finest ingredients from Italy. This date night hot spot is favored among LA natives, just as much as fashionable tourists from all over the world. I really enjoyed the atmosphere because it was not pretentious and the staff was great and attentive.

To begin our meal our waiter brought over sun dried tomato bread. It was delicious and addicting and we ordered a small plate of fried olives. The olives were stuffed with mortadella sausage and provolone and they came with a light tomato sauce.

I couldn’t let the night begin without a glass of wine. It is also a must for me when I’m dining with Italian cuisine, so I ordered a glass of Lady A Rose.

Our main entrées consisted of Garganelli Bolognese for me, and the Swordfish Special for my boyfriend. I kept it simple with the bolognese because I was secretly full from the olives and bread. I am a pasta sauce connoisseur and the pasta sauce for sure met my exceptions. We were both so full by the end of our dinner that we didn’t have room for dessert. What a shame because I really wanted to try the profiteroles and hazelnut gelato.

Drinks at Doheny Room

Night Out In Los Angeles

Our next stop was the Doheny Room on Santa Monica Blvd. The minute you walk into the venue, it’s like you’re walking into old Hollywood glamour. It’s elegantly decorated with black and white art, palm trees, and bold colors. There is a kitchen which serves small dishes like, avocado toast, sliders, and sushi. These would have been perfect choices had we not been so full from dinner. Instead, we decided to each order a drink. I had a glass of Kung Fu Girl Riesling and my boyfriend had an Angry Orchard beer.

There is a second floor that turns into a mini club and is often the spot of star-studded parties like Nylons “It Girl” Issue. We did not go upstairs, as the club scene is not really our thing and we wanted to keep it mellow for the night. We stayed at the bar for about an hour then decided to head home.

That’s a Wrap

Our night ended with Hulu…of course. I prepared for bed time by removing my makeup and throwing on some comfy pajamas. I like to sleep with the balcony door slightly opened to allow fresh cold air to come in. I lit a candle, turned on Shark Tank, and then jumped into bed to snuggle up for the night.
