Get Cultured with Free Museum Day: Pacific Standard Time LA/LA

Tired of having to spend money in order to have fun? Yeah, same here! But lucky for us, Free Museum Day: Pacific Standard LA/LA is right around the corner and what’s better than free art?

The launch of the Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA event is upon us.  Pacific Standard is an art exhibition dedicated to showcasing Latin American and Latino culture. The festivities will commence September 14th with a block party at Grand Park. Various mediums will be exhibited to help communicate the importance of diversity, and emphasize the rich Latin American culture that aided in molding Southern California. The event is free and there will be food, drinks, activities, and performances.

The celebration will continue with free museum day on September 17th. On this day over 50 museums will grant free admission (including those who currently offer free admission). Now is your chance to take advantage of this perk and visit any museum you’ve desired to attend.

Here are my favorite museums that happen to be participating in the event. Get your camera ready and go check them out for yourself!

MOCA is a museum that houses contemporary European and American art dating beyond 1940.  The museum strictly exhibits contemporary art and is the only of its kind in Los Angeles to do so. A majority of the pieces have been donated to the museum. Art pieces and exhibitions frequently change, but a permanent exhibition remains that contains some of the museum’s’ most remarkable pieces.
