As the holiday season approaches, it seems like there are a number of new Christmas tree themes to choose from. I’ve always been someone who’s gone all out, starting with finding a picture perfect tree and spending hours decorating it while sipping hot cocoa. This past December it was my third time spending the days leading up to Christmas in NYC. On December 18th Billy and I flew from Los Angeles to Windsor Locks, CT (about 15 minutes from my childhood home in Massachusetts) and then on to my parents house. All of my Christmas gifts were shipped there, so I devoted the next day wrapping and packing for New York. There’s seriously nothing in this world like Christmas time in New York City. The bright lights, the window displays, the shops, the crisp cold air…it all contributes to the alluring appeal that Manhattan has to offer. Being from the east coast, I can’t imagine not spending the holidays in New York City. Los Angeles is great around Christmas time and for those of us that grew up surrounded by snow, it’s really hard to adapt when it’s sunny and 65 degrees outside.
