When sheltering in place was announced over a month ago, I told myself I wouldn’t sit around and get nothing accomplished. Aside from writing, spending time with Billy, and working out, I wanted to touch on my creative side—something I rarely have the time to do. I began looking for DIY crafts and discovered 25 that are ideal no matter what your living situation is. From artistic projects and cooking kits to painting and tech, you can do these activities solo, with your significant other or roommates, or with your family. *This article contains some affiliate links. christmas in nyc

This past December it was my third time spending the days leading up to Christmas in NYC. On December 18th Billy and I flew from Los Angeles to Windsor Locks, CT (about 15 minutes from my childhood home in Massachusetts) and then on to my parents house. All of my Christmas gifts were shipped there, so I devoted the next day wrapping and packing for New York. The following evening my dad drove us to Union Station in New Haven, CT where we hopped on a 2 hour train ride to Grand Central Terminal. We spent 5 unforgettable days and 4 nights in the cityRead More →

los angeles coffee shops

Working from home can be convenient, but have you ever tried working from a coffee shop? I’ve always been the most productive working outside of my home. The great thing about coffee shops is that they have comfortable furniture, calming music, opportunities for networking with other creatives, and unlimited amounts of caffeine! I decided to go on a neighbor tour where I tried their food, their Wifi, and of course theirRead More →

It was a magnificent event that took a lot of preparation but was so worth the effort. You will see that throwing a successful party can be made easier with the appropriate planning and a bit of creativity! Planning for the Event I knew it would be sunny andRead More →

One Year Blogging Anniversary

I always considered myself an influencer in regards to discovering new clothing labels and trends, or choosing great beauty products to tell my friends about. They would come to me for advice and I’d give them my honest opinion. I decided that I could share my views with readers of A Girl in LA, and hopefully introduce them to something new and undiscovered. Coming up on the one year blogging anniversary, I thought I’d reflect on how the blog came to be what it is today. When I created A Girl in LA, I was working in a fashion PR showroom and I wanted toRead More →
