New York style winter coat

One of the things I love about New York in the winter time is the chance to wear (and purchase) warmer clothing. I look forward to a break from the typical warm L.A. weather and an opportunity to switch up my style. Before I took off for the East Coast, I was searching for the quintessential winter coat. I went to several stores and placed multiple online orders in a variety of styles and ended up returning them all. On the day before I left, my last hope arrived—an oversized plaid double breasted wool coat from Tommy Hilfiger. I paused in front of my mirrorRead More →

christmas in nyc

This past December it was my third time spending the days leading up to Christmas in NYC. On December 18th Billy and I flew from Los Angeles to Windsor Locks, CT (about 15 minutes from my childhood home in Massachusetts) and then on to my parents house. All of my Christmas gifts were shipped there, so I devoted the next day wrapping and packing for New York. The following evening my dad drove us to Union Station in New Haven, CT where we hopped on a 2 hour train ride to Grand Central Terminal. We spent 5 unforgettable days and 4 nights in the cityRead More →

steal her style

Zendaya first rose to fame on the Disney Channel show, Shake It Up. Her career breakthrough came with the release of her single, Replay. The hit single was then followed by the release of her self titled album Zendaya. She further demonstrated her talents by becoming one the youngest competitors on Dancing with the Stars. At the moment Zendaya has chosen to focus on acting, landing the role as MJ Jones in Spider-Man: Homecoming, along with a role in the future sequel. Her most recent project was alongside Zac Efron in the musical The Greatest Snowman. Zendaya is considered one of the most influential teensRead More →

night out essentials

For years my night out essentials would include everything that was in my daytime handbag–meaning, I carried way too much stuff with me. Sunglasses, pens, candy, crumpled up receipts, a notebook, and credit cards. You name it, I had it in there. These were things I didn’t need when I was out at dinner, or at a bar, or club for a few drinks. One day I saw a cute (but very small) studded clutch and decided to purchase it. From that day forward I made the decision to let go of the excess baggage so to speak, and only bring with me what IRead More →

christmas time in new york city

There’s seriously nothing in this world like Christmas time in New York City. The bright lights, the window displays, the shops, the crisp cold air…it all contributes to the alluring appeal that Manhattan has to offer. Last year my boyfriend and I started the tradition of heading into the city a few days before my Birthday (December 23) and spending it, as well as Christmas Eve in New York. This is something I will look forward to year after year. Here’s what we did…  Thursday  Getting There We ended up getting a late start and left in the evening. The holidays in New York City

Being from the east coast, I can’t imagine not spending the holidays in New York City. Los Angeles is great around Christmas time and for those of us that grew up surrounded by snow, it’s really hard to adapt when it’s sunny and 65 degrees outside. Last year my boyfriend and I started the tradition of going into the city a few days before my birthday (December 23rd), and then meeting up with my family for Christmas Eve dinner. For those of you that haven’t been to New York in December, I highly recommend that you put it on your list of things to do.Read More →

December in NYC

There’s no place like New York City, especially around the holidays. My boyfriend and I went for my Birthday (December 23rd), and Christmas Eve. There was so much to do and see, so we choose the top holiday spots, along with my some of my favorites. December 22, 2016 – Park Central Hotel We stayed at the Park Central Hotel in a premier room located in Midtown. It was convenient because it was three blocks from Central Park, about a half mile from Times Square, and located right between the upper east side and the upper west side. Times Square I’ve been to Times Square manyRead More →

Growing up on the east coast and spending every Christmas there, I couldn’t imagine being in a warm climate for the holidays. I need a few perfect 25-degree days with lots of snow. (Then I hurry on back to Los Angeles, and hope the winter here (aka rain) is short.) I do spend the first part of December in LA, and I started celebrating as soon as finished my Thanksgiving dinner. December flies by and before you know it, we’re thinking about all the food we ate, and alcoholic beverages we consumed come January 1st, so lets try to fit in as muchRead More →
