On The List: Blockbuster Movies To Enjoy This Summer

Summer is in full swing and that means there are endless blockbuster movies at the theaters or streaming service. Check out the new, the classics and everything in between.

Must See New Films

Wonder Women (In Theaters Now) : This one should be self explanatory. A film about a badass superhero and what makes it all the more better is that she's a women. What a great time to see a film like this be successful. Girl Power!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (In Theaters Now) : Another superhero movie, this sequel from Marvel Comics is the perfect follow up to the first one. It's fun, colorful and pure joy and the soundtrack is perfection! And if you weren't a fan of Groot, this one will make you one!

Baby Driver (In Theaters June 28th) : This film is directed by Edgar Wright who directed the cult classic, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. If you're a fan of his work than Baby Driver will definitely be your cup of tea. Just from the trailer to the cast, this film will certainly be one to watch.

Rough Night (In Theaters Now) : If you loved The Hangover franchise, you’ll love this movie. Replace the guys with girls, and replace a bachelor weekend in Vegas with a bachelorette weekend in Miami. Keep the alcohol and stripper and you have Rough Night.

Detroit (In Theaters August 4th) : Oscar Winning Director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) is back with this period drama that tells the true story of the Detroit Riots, which were biggest and most intense riots in US History.

Must See Summer Classics

Almost Famous (Stream Amazon Video) : One of my all time favorite movies, Almost Famous has a great cast, it's stylish and has a great soundtrack. If you haven't checked out this one before, I highly recommend it. Try not to fall in love with Kate Hudson's character Penny Lane in the film.

Mean Girls (Stream on Netflix) : Where do I begin with the classic? From the memorable quotes to the talented cast. This movie is so fetch!

Dazed and Confused (Stream on Netflix) : See Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Renee Zellweger and so many more before they became big stars in this coming of age, stoner comedy.

Dirty Dancing (Stream on Hulu) : “Nobody puts baby in the corner!” This 80s' movie will make you want to go on a vacation to a resort and fall in love. Ohh, and it has a kickass soundtrack!

National Lampoon's Vacation (Stream on Amazon Video) :  Clark Griswold takes his family on disaster road trip to Walley World. This John Hughes (Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club) comedy was a box office hit and still continues to be enjoyed by generations.

Now and Then (Stream on Direct TV or rent on Netflix) : Every 90s’ kid knows this movie.  Lead by an all star cast (Demi Moore, Christina Ricci, Rita Wilson and Melanie Griffith) four best friends reminisce about how they spent a pivotal summer during the 1970s.
