All Things January

All Things January

January

January…the month when you’re torn between hibernating and keeping your New Year’s Resolutions (gym goals, volunteer, learn something new, take up yoga, wake up earlier, etc.) When half of the United States has temperatures 30 degrees and below, here are some things to get you through, and help you stay on track to make 2017 your best year yet.

fairytale-of-ny

Bella Freud Parfum Candle, $70. In the cold months of January a lot of New Yorkers long for a vacation to somewhere sunny, I on the other hand love New York in the blistering cold (maybe because I don’t actually live there). This candle makes me feel like I’m in the city surrounded by snow-covered streets.

stationary

Smythson of Bond Street Thank You Cards, $45. I’m a huge fan of Smythson and I always have a box of their thank you cards on hand because you never know when you’ll need to send one. After the holidays I make a point of sending them to friends and family for the Christmas and Birthday gifts I received.

st-tropez

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Starter Kit, $27. Just because it’s winter, dreary and cold doesn’t mean your skin has to show it. This St. Tropez starter set will have you looking like you’ve just gotten back from a tropical island, because tanning beds are a big NO.

do-one-thing-everyday

Do One Thing Every Day That Scares You: A Journal, $8.90. This journal is perfect for starting the New Year and stepping out of your comfort zone.

A year’s worth of fear-facing prompts and mottoes of encouragement will motivate you to jot down one thing a day and make a daily habit of thinking courageously. Each day is an opportunity to perform one small act of bravery; singing out loud, asking for help, admitting a mistake, pitching an idea, accepting a compliment, changing your hair, going for the prize, failing spectacularly and trying agin. This journal contains a year’s worth of fear-facing prompts and mottoes of encouragement. It provides space to jot down daily examples of your own courage–the small steps that culminate in one bold year. Jotting down one thing a day, especially on fortifying subjects like gratitude and happiness, is an enormously popular journaling practice (one that is recommended by nearly every best-selling self-help author). Bravery is another key ingredient of self-actualization, so why not make a daily habit of thinking courageously? This journal is perfect for recent graduates, milestone birthdays, or as a year-end holiday gift to kick off “New Year, New You” projects. —Amazon

wildfox

Wildfox Essentials Charmed Hoodie, $158. This oversized hoodie is great for lounging around by the fire and binge watching Netflix.

hand-cream

L’Occitane Shea Butter Violet Hand Cream, $12. I’ve tried so many hand creams from cheap drugstore finds to the over priced and high end. L’Occitane is my favorite. I kept this in my handbag while I was back east and put it on every night before bed, and I couldn’t believe the difference it made. This is now my go to for dry cracked winter hands.

make-it-happen-journal

Smythson of Bond Street, Panama Make it Happen textured-leather notebook, $75. I love starting the New Year with a new journal. I find this one to be inspiring with ‘Make It Happen’ embossed on the front, which is perfect for writing down your goals for 2017.

led-light

Project E Beauty LED 3 Colors Photo-Rejuvenation Kit Facial Beauty Care Massager + 30ml Duplex E Collagen Ion Gel, $53.99. I’m obsessed with this little gadget. I bought it this past summer and while I was on vacation in December, I slacked on my skincare and noticed a big difference. As soon as I got home, I did a 10-minute treatment and noticed my skin was back on track. I use this a few times a week. The LED lights and vibrations help with clearing up acne, improving elasticity, minimizing pores, clearing and lighting skin texture, decreasing wrinkles, tightening and firming, deep cleaning, moisturizing, and enhancing blood circulation.

The blue light penetrating about 0.5mm has the function of calming against skin rashes; suitable for the skin, which is sensitive, oily, and with skin rashes. It can adjust skin sebum secretion; effectively get rid of acne and whelk to reach the aim of beautification. Besides, the blue light can astringe and tighten loosened skin.

The red light penetrating 8-10mm is suitable for any type of skin; it can reach derma to stimulate fibre cells. Heating can improve blood circulation and collagen albumen hyperplasia to reduce wrinkles and make skin more elastic and smooth. The mild wave length is suitable for surrounding eyes and forehead.

The green light between red light and blue light is suitable for mixed skin. It can improve the function of alternating use of cells and oxygen and activate the microcirculation function of body surface. Meanwhile, calming the skin can make both body and skin relax, and reduce the pain of skin. Project E Beauty

pressed-juicery

Pressed Juicery Cleanse. The holidays were a time for splurging on unhealthy foods but now it’s time to get your body back into shape, and there’s no better way to do that than by doing a juice cleanse. Over the years I’ve tried many, and most have tasted disgusting, however Pressed Juicery is different—it’s delicious. Pressed Juicery is located in most major cities, but they deliver overnight for those who don’t live near one of their locations. They even have a quiz to take so you can find out which cleanse is best for you. Choose between a 1-day, 3 day or 5 day cleanse, or just pick up a juice for it’s amazing taste and health benefits.
